![]() Artist Tacita Dean has kindly allowed us to use her Film Amadeus, about her crossing of the Channel from Boulogne to Folkestone in a trawler. Amadeus featured in the 2008 Folkestone Triennial. Dean made Amadeus (swell consopio) a 50 minute, 16mm anamorphic film, shot in real time, of crossing the Channel from Boulogne to Folkestone. The journey took place in an old fishing boat (‘Amadeus’) in rough seas at dawn in March 2008. www.betweenthestorms.co.uk

![]() We got off to a flying start with a writing for heritage workshop on 29th April. Thank you to those who attended. We need more writers to join us: Help us tell the story of our town We are looking for tales of adventures that began or ended with a trip across the channel for our project Between the Storms which explores the heritage of Folkestone as a cross-channel port. Maybe your life was changed forever by the crossing or maybe you just had a good time? Whatever, tell us about it we shall publish a selection of your stories in a book to be launched during the Folkestone Book Festival in November 2014. All stories must be sent to us as word documents. Maximum length 3000 words. Deadline The end of July 2014.
